White’s Music Center is a four generation music store.
Cyril and Irma Mae White opened the store in August of 1947.
At the time, Cyril White was the band and orchestra instructor at Tulare Union High School. Eminently successful in his profession and thoroughly knowledgeable in the
field of musical instruments, Cyril saw the need for a local music store that could service local schools.
Keith , Cyril’s son, and Keith’s wife Janice, entered the business in 1960. In addition, Keith also teaches music, and maintains a part-time position teaching and
directing band at a local public school.
Robert White, Keith’s son, joined the team in 1981, after attending Red Wing Technical School in Minnesota, one of the countries foremost schools of instrument repair.
This department has steadily grown thru the years and employs up to 6 techs during the summer peak season. Robert’s wife, Michelle is now employed with the company, and
manages the office in our Visalia location.
Blake White, Robert’s son now enjoys a part-time sales and stocking job, while he furthers his education at College of the Sequoias.
Currently Whites music has 4 locations (Tulare, Visalia, Hanford, and Porterville).
